Staff Pics for October: Layered Fall Looks

Thanksgiving is always the official start of layering season. Like most things, layering can be done right or wrong. We turned to our staff to show you their favourite layered looks for all days (and holidays) of the week.

There’s a lot of guys who love to look great, but don’t want bright colours and patterns. Here’s a layered winter look for them. It’s got neutral colours, but a double breasted blazer – the top trend of the season. This is great for a more conservative office dress code, or going out at night when you really want to dress to impress.Stones coat $595, Strellson double breasted blazer $798, SAND wool sweater $250, Oscar check shirt $175, Altea tie $115, A. Christensen pocket square $55.– Jenna

If you’re not in suits from Monday to Friday, this could be your new outfit for any day of the week. The key is slim fitting pieces with a preppy vibe. I chose Zanerobe pieces because they’re made with the trimmer guy in mind.

Zanerobe leather jacket $400, Zanerobe striped cardigan $149, Oscar check shirt $175, Dibi tie $65.

When it’s so cold out that you want to wear every piece of clothing in your closet, this is what it should look it. Keeping the patterns small and colours neutral will let you pile on the layers into a polished final product. Also, layering hoodies and vests is also a really current trend that I’m liking.

Johnny Love plaid parka $595, SAND plaid sportcoat $858, Circle of Gentlemen vest $300, Adidas SLVR hoodie $205, PYA cardigan $185, SAND paisley shirt $228, Altea tie $115.

Holiday party season will be here sooner than you think, and there’s nothing more festive than a red velvet bow tie and blazer. The timeless grey jacket is just the right tough to tone down the red velvet without taking away from it.

Cerruti wool coat $998, Gotstyle velvet tux blazer $795, SAND plaid shirt $250, A. Christensen velvet bow tie $95, Jin Qun pocket square $20.

It’s smart and casual at the same time, with great colours for fall and winter. The pockets and bag make it functional for students, young professionals, or any busy guy who needs to be prepared for the day. When you take the jacket off it turns into a preppier outfit that works for class, interviews, meetings, or dates.

Marshall Artist jacket $278, Ted Baker bag $368, Psycho Bunny sweater $225, Farah shirt $125.
