Runway to Reality – Must-Have Casual Items for Spring
Fall is often seen as the ideal season for menswear. Textured suits, rich patterns, colours, and fabrics rule the runway and the stores; but with Spring comes colour and fresh looks. This Spring is a great season, we’re seeing slimmer fits and even more colour.
1. Coloured khakis
• Outfit from DSquared2 Spring/Summer 2012 runway show | • Benson white vneck tshirt $45 • GSUS pant $180 • Beryll dogtag necklace $110 • Marshall Artist braided leather belt $90 • Adidas SLVR moccasin shoes $190. |
Total Price: $615 |
If you haven’t yet bought a new pair of khakis (not your dad’s kind), pop it with color for Spring. Worn with white and other neutrals, this is a simple and fresh look that’s way better than wearing jeans every day.
2. The Parka or Anorak
• Outfit from Junya Watanabe Spring/Summer 2012 runway show | • Marshall Artist anorak $195 • Psycho Bunny sweater $170 • SWIMS loafer $160 • Scott James shorts $95 |
Total price: $620 |
To keep dry and warm in Spring, an anorak or windbreaker is the best way to go. They’re not only utilitarian in weight and material, but also look great when they’re done in bright colours.
3. Stripes
Stripes are no longer for suits and ties, casual looks are all about the stripes this season. They’re preppy, simple, and an easy way to add colour to an outfit.
