GOTSTYLE x Joe Carter Golf Tournament

We were excited to be participating in our third Joe Carter Golf Tournament this year, one of the top celebrity golf tournaments in North America (and with a legendary afterparty!)

This is the 8th year for the Joe Carter golf tournament and it has gone from raising $70,000 in the first year to over $340,000 in its 7th year, with a pledge to raise over $2.5 million.The money raised goes towards the Children’s Aid Foundation, a national charity dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable children in Canada.

This two-day affair starts with a celebrities only game on Wed, followed by a gifting suite for the celebrities. Goodies this year were a Blackberry phone, Canada Goose jacket, Nike golf shoes and of course our own Gotstyle dress shirt! Happy to say that a few of the returning guys from the previous year said it was the best fitting shirt that they’ve ever had - especially for big and tall guys like Dan Marino and Dr. J (who said it was the only shirt that fit him that wasn’t custom).

Ater the gifting suite, everyone headed over to the Rogers Centre to watch the baseball game in the VIP suites.

The next day it was an early start for the team with a 9 am start time at Eagles Nest Golf Club - we sponsored the 5th hole (a very deceiving par 3) and handed out to all the golfers pocket squares and our special spiked lemonade. For the golfer in each foursome that got closest to the pin, they got an additional prize of their choice of underwear, ties, socks or Canada tee shirts.

Not a bad day to be hanging around with current superstars and legends like Joe Carter, Dion Phaneuf, Nazem Kadri, Kurt Browning, Grant Fuhr, Kenny Lofton and Ozzie Smith.

After the tournament, we headed to the after party to dance to Arrested Development and hip-hop legend DMC (no Run)!
